"Dead Book"

Article in:

Among papers and records in Possession of the Nevell family of Warrah, near Rylstone, is a shabby little notebook, valued perhaps above all the rest. Known for generations as the "Dead Book", it contains the names of all the people buried in the Carwell cemetery in the early years of settlement there. The entries were made by Elizabeth Nevell (née Vincent) of Carwell, the first entry being that of John Holland 27 July 1831.
